When you’re on tour you have a lot of down time. A lot. Which means that more often than not, I haphazardly find myself in the midst of some very cool moments (like the one above). A few days into the WJ2012 Tour, Manwell (of G1C) and myself were running around working on a music video piece when we dropped into Mr. TobyMac’s dressing room to find Chris and Byron playing around with some old blues/gospel hymns. After a few minutes Byron put down a riff from The Williams Brothers “I’m Just A Nobody” and something clicked for the entire room.
Personally the greatest part of this is watching the three improvise the verses and structure of the song with nothing but eye contact. Completely freestyle.
